Enter Your Email Address in Naviance

The Counseling staff needs your email address in Naviance so they can communicate important information with you. Please get in the habit of checking your email frequently.

  1. Click on the “About Me” link at the top. 

2.Click on “My Account.” 

3.Click on the Pencil Icon in the “Contact Information Box.” 

4.Enter your email address. 

5.Click “Save.”

Add College to the “Colleges I’m Applying To” List

The following is how you add the colleges to which you are applying to the list of Colleges I’m Applying to in Naviance:

  • This is the section where students will spend most of their time.
  • You must complete this section in order to request letters of recommendation and transcripts.

Important to tell us how you are applying!

Office Materials will say “Initial Materials Submitted” when complete.

For self-report schools, you will already see this status when you add the college to your list.

Teacher Recommendations

  • Allow at least 3-4 weeks for teachers to complete their recommendation portion of your college application!
  • Students “invite” their teachers to upload and send letters of recommendation in two steps:
    1. Provide teachers with a copy of your “TEACHER RECOMMENDATION INFORMATION FORM” and include on the form the deadline date of your first application that requires their letter of recommendation.
    2. Make sure your college has been added to the “Colleges I’m Applying To” tab. Click on the Recommendation tab immediately below.
  • IMPORTANT: ASSIGN YOUR TEACHERS TO SPECIFIC SCHOOLS, NOT “All Applications”.
    • It is your responsibility to research which schools require a letter of recommendation on their website.
    • If they do not ask for a letter of recommendation, they do not use it in the admissions process. DO NOT ASK YOUR TEACHER FOR ONE IF THIS IS THE CASE!

Requesting Transcripts

Requesting transcripts is a two step process.

  1. Add the college to which you are applying to your Naviance student account.
    • Log onto your Naviance student account
    • Select the COLLEGES tab
    • Under COLLEGES, select “Colleges I’m Applying To”
    • Click on the “+”, add each college/university, including application information
    • Click “Add Application”
  2. Go to MyPaymentsPlus and fill out the “Transcript, Fee and Request Form” and pay $2 per transcript.
    • For Common Application documents, you MUST link you Common App account to your Naviance account. (An instructional video on how to do this is located on your Naviance homepage.)
    • It is your responsibility to complete ALL parts of the above process, or transcripts will not be sent.

We will begin accepting transcript requests on August 26, 2020.

  • Login to MyPaymentsPlus
  • Click “Events and Activities”
  • Click “Acts and Services”
  • Click “Transcript, Fee, and Request Form”
  • Click “Add to Cart”
  • Complete the form in its entirety
    • We send official high school transcripts directly to the college from Walton
    • Do not choose the option “Pick Up at School”
  • Click “Save”
  • If you need more than one transcript, click “Add Another for Each Additional College”
  • Checkout and Pay

Virtual Walton College Visits

Walton Jr and Sr Students:

Each fall over 100 college admission counselors come to Walton to present information about academic and special programs, admission requirements, and campus life. ​

  • This fall (Fall 2020), all college visits will be virtual and will occur during non-instructional time.
  • College visits are open to Walton junior and senior students (only).
  • Students must sign up in Naviance in advance and use the link provided to access the meeting.
  • When attending a college visit:
    • Log in a few minutes before the scheduled start time.
    • Set your microphone on mute, if not already set.
    • Be prepared and ask thoughtful questions.
    • This is your opportunity to make a good first impression and show that you are interested in that college or university.

To Register for a College Visit:

  • College visits are updated every few days, so check Naviance often for upcoming virtual college visits. ​
  • Log on to your Naviance Student account (follow instructions below). You must sign up at least 6 hours prior to the meeting.
  • Go to Home page > “What’s New” section at the bottom, right side​. Click on “Show More” to see the full list of upcoming visits.
  • Find the college visit and select “More Info.”
  • Click on the “Register Now’ tab at the top right of the page.
  • To access the virtual meeting link (day of virtual visit), log on to Naviance Student:
    • Go to Colleges Home page and find that college visit (or go to Colleges>Research Colleges>College Visits).
    • Click “Virtual Visit Link” next to the registered visit.  The link will be available 15 minutes before the meeting time.

To Access Your Naviance Account:

Use your student Office 365 login (Microsoft Username and Password) to log on to the Cobb County website from home.  [If you are using a CCSD computer, you will already be logged in.]  Go to the homepage of the Walton website. Click on the baseball icon at the top right side of the home page.  This will take you to your Naviance student account automatically.  This is the only pathway to log into Naviance.
