Powder Puff 2021

Calling all Walton ladies to sign up to play Powder Puff Football on Friday, Sept 17, 2021. Also, calling all Walton guys to sign up to join the fun as coaches and cheerleaders! Entry forms are due Friday, August 6, 2021, so don’t delay!

SLC Application

The Student Leadership Council (SLC) is a club under the Foundation of Walton High School. We plan and host events that create lifelong memories for Walton’s students while fundraising for our school and community charities.  In a typical year, SLC hosts the Homecoming Dance, Powder Puff, Grill Days, WEB pizza, Swishes for Wishes and CHOA’s Just for Kids event. We try to keep the membership to 35 -40 students so that each student can have meaningful leadership experiences.  We focus on leadership characteristics, as well marketing and fundraising skills. Our members are required to commit 15 hours per semester which includes our meetings.  If you are interested in joining SLC, please submit an application for consideration at the link below by  April 23, 2021.

Encouraging Notes Sent to Nursing Home

Members of our Student Leadership Council (SLC) wrote over 220 notes to the residents of Manor Care Nursing Home and their staff.  Three members of SLC delivered the notes before Thanksgiving in hopes of providing some cheer to the residents during the holiday season.  They also wrote notes of appreciation to the staff during this difficult time as a healthcare professional.

BOO Bag Fundraiser Raises $860

The Foundation’s Student Leadership Council would like to thank all the students and families that purchased BOO Bags for our Walton staff.  The teachers were excited to receive them!

We enjoyed seeing the halls and the teacher inboxes lined with these treats.  Because of its success in its inaugural year, the Student Leadership Council hopes to make it an annual tradition at Walton.

SLC raised $860.00 for the Center for Children & Young Adults’ (CCYA).  Below you will see a photo of our students with Dr. Mallanda presenting a check for $860.00 to CCYA, which will help buy pajamas for their residents this winter.
