SLC Application

The Student Leadership Council (SLC) is a club sponsored by the Walton Foundation. We plan and host events that create lifelong memories for Walton’s students while fundraising for our school and community charities.  In a typical year, SLC hosts the Homecoming Dance, Powder Puff, Grill Days, WEB pizza, and Hoops for Hope. We try to keep the membership to 35 -40 students so that each student can have meaningful leadership experiences.  We focus on leadership characteristics, as well marketing and fundraising skills. Our members are required to commit 15 hours per semester which includes our meetings.  If you are interested in joining SLC, please submit an application for consideration at the link below by  April 1, 2022.

SLC’s March Madness

Walton’s Student Leadership Council (SLC) will be busy in the month of March raising funds for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)! We will be kicking off with a Community Family Movie Night on Saturday, March 12th at 7:00pm. Grab your blankets and beach chairs to join us on the Walton Practice Field adjacent to Raider Valley to watch The INCREDIBLES. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at https://www.waltonhighschoolfoundation.org/2022-slc-movie-night-the-incredibles/ or the night of the event at the door.

Our SWEET SIXTEEN tournament will start Monday, March 14th. Sixteen of Walton’s amazing teachers will be competing against one another to raise funds for CHOA. They will be collecting money in their classrooms as well as throughout the community via individual fundraising web pages.

The fun continues with HOOPS FOR HOPE, a 3v3 basketball tournament and shooting contest for Walton students, on Wednesday, March 23rd during WEB.

Lastly, Grill Day is back on March 23rd!! We will be selling hot dogs, burgers and veggie burgers just outside the dining hall before WEB blocks begin. We hope you will be an active participant in helping us make MARCH MADNESS FOR CHOA a huge success!!
