Commit to the “W” 2023!

Get Ready Raiders!

The Walton High School Foundation 2023 Patron Drive kicks off this week, March 6, and will run through April 23rd.  The drive raises funds to support Walton academics and campus needs. Last year, more than $200,000 was raised to support teaching and counseling staff, as well as major landscaping projects. Giving is easy! Go to www.waltonhighschoolfoundation.org and click “Donate”.

Also, be on the lookout for our mailing with additional information. Families donating $250+ receive a blue mailbox ribbon to help paint the town blue with school spirit.  Senior families who donate will receive a blue ribbon embellished with a special senior decoration. Commit today!

BOO Bags Delivery Success!

Thank you to everyone who purchased a BOO Bag for the Walton Staff.  With the generous donations, SLC students were able to give all staff members a BOO bag which included a Starbuck’s gift card and some Halloween treats.

The SLC Students assembled and delivered the BOO Bags to the teachers on Wednesday during WEB.

Thank you to our students and parents for supporting this SLC activity!!

Walton Homecoming 2022: A Trip Down Sunset Boulevard

With 1,400 students in attendance, Walton’s “A Trip Down Sunset Blvd” Homecoming dance can be deemed a success!  All who attended looked incredible and embodied the spirit of the night.  This Homecoming dance was the first dance hosted in the main gymnasium since the new building opened five years ago, which provided the necessary space for such an event. With such a beautiful clear night, the aerial search lights were enjoyed by those in attendance and seen throughout the community.  From the outdoor 40 ft Hollywood sign and the indoor 25 ft photo wall, there were plenty of opportunities for great photos.  We engaged House of Music Productions to help create an atmosphere worthy of a concert experience with state of the art visual and lighting effects.  And a huge thanks to DJ Leo for keeping the students jamming and entertained all night long.

We are grateful for the support of administration, school police officers, staff, and custodians.  A huge shout out to the custodians who turned around the gym in record time after a late afternoon volleyball game. We couldn’t have done it without you!  The Walton community was amazing providing refreshments for all students in attendance and we’re so appreciative of the parents who took time to help chaperone the event.

The Student Leadership Council is honored to be able to put on such an event for the Walton students! We’re already looking forward to next year and how we can make it bigger and better!

Volunteers Needed!

Please volunteer at the voting table to collect the ballots on the evening of Thursday, October 6th in the theater lobby or during the day on Friday, October 7th in the lower rotunda.  Please sign up here for a shift: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4AADAA28A4F49-walton .

We appreciate your help and support for Walton.

Walton Charter

Since 1998, Walton High School has been designated a conversion charter school. The charter gives our school autonomy to make decisions to best meet the needs of our students. At Walton, we utilize the charter flexibility through WEB, flexible scheduling, course offerings, resource purchases, and faculty professional development. The charter term is 5 years, and this year is a renewal year. The proposed charter will be posted on the Walton website under “News” on the front page, along with this direct link here (document is located at the bottom of the page under related files). Part of the charter renewal process is obtaining stakeholder approval and therefore, we need parent votes. We will have a charter information presentation followed by Q & A. Meeting times and voting times are listed below:
Parent meeting October 6th in the theater at 7:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The meeting will only last 15-20 minutes.

Parent meeting October 7th in the theater at 12:00 p.m. The meeting will only last 15-20 minutes.

Parent voting will take place on Thursday, October 6th in the theater from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Friday, October 7th in the atrium from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
