SLC’s March Madness

Walton’s Student Leadership Council (SLC) will be busy in the month of March raising funds for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)! We will be kicking off with a Community Family Movie Night on Saturday, March 12th at 7:00pm. Grab your blankets and beach chairs to join us on the Walton Practice Field adjacent to Raider Valley to watch The INCREDIBLES. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at https://www.waltonhighschoolfoundation.org/2022-slc-movie-night-the-incredibles/ or the night of the event at the door. 

Our SWEET SIXTEEN tournament will start Monday, March 14th. Sixteen of Walton’s amazing teachers will be competing against one another to raise funds for CHOA. They will be collecting money in their classrooms as well as throughout the community via individual fundraising web pages. 

The fun continues with HOOPS FOR HOPE, a 3v3 basketball tournament and shooting contest for Walton students, on Wednesday, March 23rd during WEB. 

Lastly, Grill Day is back on March 23rd!! We will be selling hot dogs, burgers and veggie burgers just outside the dining hall before WEB blocks begin. We hope you will be an active participant in helping us make MARCH MADNESS FOR CHOA a huge success!!

2022 SLC Movie Night – The Incredibles

The Walton Student Leadership Council will be hosting The Incredibles Movie Night on March 12, 2022 at 7:00pm in the Lower Practice Field adjacent to Raider Valley.

Tickets will be $5 each. Once tickets are purchased, you may gain entry at the gate via the Prepaid Line by simply giving your name. Doors open at 6:15pm and the movie will end by 9:00pm. All attendees needing a ride home should be picked up no later than 9:10pm.

Tickets will also be available at the door and cash and credit will be accepted. Please bring blankets and/or chairs and enjoy the show!

Acento Latino Spanish Book Set

Spanish teacher, Angeles Hatfield’s grant request for a Acento Latino Spanish Book Set was fulfilled with the 2021-22 teacher grant funds from Publix and Kroger donations.

This book set includes 6 titles for Level 4 reading from the Acento Latino catalogue.

MiniPCR Biotech Classroom Pack

Science teacher, Dr Link’s grant request for $900 to go towards a $4990 miniPCR Biotech Classroom Pack was fulfilled with the 2021-22 teacher grant funds from Publix and Kroger donations.

Class Sets of Scientific Calculators

Science teachers, Sarah Hart and Dana Evans’ grant requests for five class sets of eight RENUS 2-Line Engineering Scientific Calculators were fulfilled with the 2021-22 teacher grant funds from Publix and Kroger donations.
